As promised today we have some pictures. We also have a dilema and a small confession. First the confession.

I don’t like my NBaT! Well to be more correct I don’t like the neckline. It isn’t sitting flat and I think it is a bit fussy – one picot edging too far. I have made up my mind I am going to frog the neck and either replace it with a bias edging like Nona’s or maybe just a simple crochet edging like Soleil.

Second the dilema. Soleil looks great BUT – isn’t there alway a but, the neckline is too low to wear for work and the top is a bit dressy for anywhere else. Being only 5ft 1" everyone taller finishes up looking down on my cleavage! I have consulted with others – thanks Nona and Vikki! and I think I am going to knit a lace insert using the pattern from the bottom and sew it in to make the top decent.

Finally as promised pictures!!

knitted in Patons 100% cotton

Imgp0362 Guess what arrived yesterday!          This is going to be a felted brim hat from Chicknits. I’m fed up of getting a sore head carting all my windsurfing gear up and down from the beach. I have to rest it on top of my head to transport it because I am so short! I know the pattern uses worsted weight doubled but I have done a swatch and I have hit gauge first time witht the right needles so it should be ok.

Lastly but not least.

Imgp0363_1 This is the very beginning of my Kiri shawl the yarn is Patons Coral and is a cotton mix, It is so soft to work with I am looking forward to this!

Soleil looks so good but I understand about the v neck. I’m about the same height and don’t feel comfortable about necklines being too low either. The lace insert will give it a special touch. Look forward to seeing the progress on Kiri.

I love that Iceland wool for your felted hat. Where did you get that from please?

A lace insert will be gorgeous! Hope you get NBaT back into shape. I’m wearing mine now! And look at that lace…you caught the bug.
