The weather on Sunday was distinctly Autumnal. No breeze, damp and actually a bit dismal.

That was alright though as there were two monster football games in the tele ( Liverpool v Chelsea and Manchester United V Arsenal) so I settled down for a quiet day of finishing up some fibery projects in front of the box.

First up there was the spindle full of Amy Boogies lovely superwash merino roving to ply. I decided to andean ply it rather than wait and spin another spindle full. In retrospect this was a mistake. I now have two skeins of around 80 yarns of fingering weight yarn that are a whole tone different in colour. They are both turquiose blue but the second one is dark enough that I could knit shadow stripes in the two skeins.

No photo as my camera just doesn’t seem to be able to capture the differences, but believe me they are there :-)

Having finished with the spinning I decided it was time to finish the navy cotton Tee that I was basing loosley on a top from the Summer IK. I knitted the second sleeve, sewed it all up, decided on a neckline treatment and then tried it on. MMMM

Lets just say that it is probably one if the most unflattering things I have ever had the misfortune to wear, let alone knit. I am not blind to the fact that I am a little on the large side BUT JUST WHAT WAS I THINKING!!

Needless to say last night the entire thing made a visit to the frog pond and is waiting in my basket for its turn – I think it is likely to become a shapely tee from White Lies ( that’s the Shapley Tank , with sleeves).

Finally check this out It is the most wonderful piece of animation I have seen in a long time – and it’s about knitting!*

Bummer about your navy cotton tee… It’s autumnal here, too – a high of 50F today, with blustery winds and rain and lots of clouds. Brr.

Sorry that your top didn’t work out. I hope the Shapely Tee works out for you. It almost makes me want to make one for myself, darn it all!
