Ooops I did it again!

Sorry, that song was playing on the radio this morning when my alarm went off and it seemed kind of appropriate :-)

As you know I have been working away on a couple of hush hush projects that I’m not allowed to show you. Well. Sunday was a beautiful autumn day, lots of wind for the more intrepid windsurfers and for us lazy ones it was in the right direction to get out the deck chairs, sit behind a high top van and sun ourselves while knitting away :-)

The end result of all this hedonism is a topped up fading tan – it was T-shirt and shorts weather is you were out of the wind, and a completed project. Hurray!

So when I got home and we had munched our way through a very nice roast beef dinner, how far did I get on the second deadline looming hush hush project?

Well…. um…. sort of… Ok I ‘fess up – NOWHERE!

You see, I have this knitting corner where all my books are on a shelf, my WIPs are in a wicker basket, a second basket hold all the remaining yarn for the WIP’s, a third, smaller basket holds my spindles and roving rovings of the moment and then there is the french basket that contains the latest additions to the stash plus the next projected project plus the few left over balls from the last completed project, – Are you seeing a pattern here :-) Yarn and roving everywhere so is it any suprise that I got distracted.

The Koigu that I bought to Stash in London has been reminding me more and more forcibly that it was supposed to be a Shetland Triangle Shawl from Wrap Style and would I please get on with it – especially if I want to take it away with me next week. So….

Shetland Triangle 5 repeats- about 2/3 or the first ball of yarn gone.

I have read all the hype about Koigu on the web and was prepared to be disappointed by this yarn – it couldn’t be as wonderful as everyone says it is – But it is! It isn’t the softest yarn I have knitted with but it is bouncy and sproingy and just lovely to knit with – I will have to get some more :-)

As to whether the shawl will be ready to travel by Monday, I don’t know but it is going to be fun trying ;-)

Such a great project and I love the yarn/color you picked.

I was convinced too that Koigu wouldn’t live up to the hype. But it did, it did. I’m already plotting on where to get more…
