A bit of a cheat this one but I have so many wonderful photos to show you from our trip to Cornwall.

First up Sheep with a view :-)

Sheep_with_a_view_1 And what a view. we came over the top of a hill down a country lane and there is was!

No idea what kind of sheep they are but they looked pretty happy :-)

This was on the way down to The Lost Gardens of Heligan. When we got there and started wandereing through the woods we were greeted by this

Mud_maid She is called a Mud Maid. It is a living sculpture, her hair is made from growing plants that flower in the spring.

Heligan was beautiful, even in autumn when there were few flowers

Heligan_jungle The jungle was just that, jungly:-) complete with growing hands of bananas and ginger lilies – all growing outdoors!

Next day it was onwards to Eden. It was pouring with rain but that doesn’t matter.

Eden_waterfall Stunning

Eden_watefall_2 Absolutely Stunning

Even more so when you realise that all of this is under cover in an old china clay quarry in the bigest high tech greenhouse in the world

You move from tropical area to tropical area around the world all within a few yards of each other.

absolutely amazing

Not only that but it is an ecological, educational charity and the whole site is working towards being energy neutral as soon as possible. everything is recycled, re used and all the power is wind or solar wherever possible.

I’d go again in a heartbeat!

Gorgeous! I read the book Penmarric by Susan Howatch when I was about 20 (it’s one of my favorites!) It takes place in Cornwall and the Cornish tin mines…I ALWAYS wanted to visit! :)

Oh, my, what lucky sheep? Do they appreciate it? That view does it, I’m ready to move to the sheep pasture.
