We Came, We Walked, We Conquered!

Today was the day that Daughter and I did the Race for Life.

I have no pictures because we decided to take as little as possible with us (and my camera has decided to give up the ghost) It took us about 55 minutes to complete the course (5k).

It was lovely day, mainly sunny with a light breeze, perfect walking weather. It was not however perfect windsurfing weather so this afternoon we went for another walk (about 7k) – I will sleep well tonight :-)

Thank you again to everyone who sponsored us, I will put all the names in a hat next week and draw a winner.

I have managed to get some knitting and spinning done. I decided to spin up some sock weight yarn for my sockapalooza pal because I had some roving that contained all her favourite colours.

170507_2018 Spunky Eclectic – Burning Spruce -Blue Faced Leicester.

It’s made some purty yarn :-)

It’s drying at the moment.

Just need to choose a pattern now.

I’ve also started a little summer jacket for me. You know the sort of thing, long sleeved, zip up, raglan, it might have a little bit of cabling on the raglans and either side of the front opening – I haven’t decided yet – I’m sort of making it up as I go along :-)

200507_1325 Sorry about the bad photo, I’m having to rely on the camera phone until I can do something about my camera.

The yarn is much pinker in person and is a new Sirdar yarn called Supersoft Toddler Aran – It is 100% acrylic, very soft and not at all squeaky. It is very reasonably priced and ideal for a light weight jacket that will be used as a beach cover up which can then just be chucked in the washing machine.

More details when I decided on them ;-)

Well done on the walk. To paraphrase a certain supermarket “Every little helps!”

I don’t think insomnia will be a problem after all that walking :D

Good job on the walk! And there is definitely something to be said for a knit that can be chucked into the wash.
