This little harbour on the west coast of Guernsey is right next to the beach where I spend my summers. It boasts a pier that the kids love to jump off at high tide.They are both part of a much larger horseshoe shaped bay, the far edge of which you can see in the distance.
The tower you can see on the horizon is one of a series of towers built during the Napoleonic war to keep Old Boney out if he ever decided to use us as a stepping stone to invading mainland Britain.
On a clear day ( with a high powered pair of binoculars) I can see this bay from my kitchen window
